Plastic louvered vent with real wood trim, everything appears fine.

Typical window installation with wood trim, again, everything looks done properly
.
WHAT? No!
Raw OSB behind louvered vent - Everything is not fine.

No moisture barrier behind trim around the louvered vents either! This spot in the wall will eventually rot through and take more of the house with it.  Why cover the rest of the house and leave this open? Stupidity we guess.
OH NO!  No moisture barrier behind the trim. How much did they save?  A buck maybe, but it took more labor to leave this off then to leave it on.
Installing exterior Sill Pan and flashing under window.
NOW there is moisture barrier behind where the Louvered vents and trim reside
A better shot of the finished product of Sill Pan & Flashing over the Stucco to kick out the water. This is the way a pro does it, Thank you very much!

The notches in this piece of trim were at the bottom center of the window.

They were actually funneling water INTO the house (as shown in this picture).

Another shot of exterior of exterior Sill Pan & Flashing over the Stucco under the window.
Pulling the rest of the trim from window, applying moisture barrier
Carpenters cut flashing at each side of the Key on trim originally, BAD! Gave the water a spout to pour in behind everything.
Making flashing piece to fit around key - where there had been none. Another 2 minutes during the build, another several hours as a redo.

A friend mentioned he had some water coming into his 4 year old house.  A quick look showed where the problems were, so we gathered a crew and went to town.  Simple stuff, stuff you would never guess that someone would do to save a dime or a minute, but here, 4 years down the road a $300,000 house is ripe for substantial damage. A quick look around your house might save you  thousands down the road.

This part was dumb simple, both when they did it and fixing it now. Question is why did they skip this step?
