Bad Laws
"Right to Repair legislation is back again this year. The Home Builders Association's across the state are determined to protect their BAD BUILDER members from lawsuits. A home is the largest single investment a family ever makes and there is NO consumer protection for that investment. This legislation will make it even more difficult to hold bad builders accountable and responsible. Builders claim that homeowners file "frivolous" lawsuits against them. HOGWASH! Most victims of defective construction have extreme difficulty finding attorney's who will take their case because even if they win it is difficult to collect an award as a builder can dissolve his LLC, start a new company and never pay.

From the HBA publication in Kansas City: News Center: Members Only Please keep in mind when reading this that the builders in CO spent $3,000,000 to defeat Amendment 34 in CO last year, and over $500,000 the year before to get "right to repair" passed in CO. They don't spend that kind of money to protect consumers. Consumers have fought to stop this in every state, but are unable to counter homebuilder campaign contributions and advertising money.

Please go to the MO State web site to find phone and fax numbers for every
Senator on the Judiciary and Civil & Criminal Jurisprudence Committee. Fax them your opposition to this legislation and follow up with a phone call to them. Do the same with every Co-Sponsor. Most Senator's will not read e-mail from people who do not live in their district.

Victims of Miller Enterprises please notice that your Senators are Co-Sponsors of this bill. Make sure that you contact them and let other's know to do so as well.

Thank you all for your assistance. We defeated it last year and HAVE to try again this year.
